Nature: Vehicle Accident – Indian Mission Road & Harmon’s Hill Road

On Friday morning, March 13^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road at Harmon’s Hill Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard area and Engine 80 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a white Dodge Caravan and a maroon Toyota RAV4 collided that the intersection causing front-end damage to both vehicles. Both vehicles were rendered inoperable. One person was transported to nearby medical facilities. One vehicle was also occupied by a small dog which was not injured but peacefully awaited its owner to retrieve upon completion of mitigation efforts.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
