On Friday evening, February 13th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad with a landing zone assignment in the Bay City development off of Long Neck Road.  Additional emergency alerts included LifeNet2 Aviation Unit, the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Fire Police.  

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Incident Command 80 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

The landing zone was designed to be in the large field near the entrance to the development.   The patient was flown to Christiana Medical Center in New Castle County.

All fire company emergency response apparatus were authorized to return to their respective quarters after the assignment was completed.
