Nature: Traffic Collision - High Mechanism (pedestrian)

Early Saturday morning, February 7^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on Clover Lane in the Oak Meadows development off Oak Orchard Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be a person hit by a car.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility.  All aviation units were down due to weather conditions. Emergency response units from the fire company were cancelled.

Emergency response crews were assigned to coordinate patient stabilization and evaluation.

One person was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
