Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Multi-Residential Building

Location: 28504 Ferndale Rd Victorias Landing, DE 19966

On Saturday, January 24th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding at a multi-residential townhouse building on Ferndale Road in the Victorias Landing off John J. Williams Highway.  It was reported to be an automatic fire alarm sounding within the residential structure.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 and Command 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior evaluation and an interior evaluation upon gaining access to the interior of the residential structure.

It was determined that the residential facility had a faulty detector.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective stations.
