Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Entrapment

Address: Mount Joy Rd and Maryland Camp Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday afternoon, January 15^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle with possible entrapment on Mount Joy Road in the area of Maryland Camp Road.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle accident, side impact with possible occupant entrapment. Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics., the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2 and the Millsboro Fire Company Rescue Assist Resources.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, verification that there was not any entrapment, fluid and debris recovery, and traffic control.  Emergency response was limited to Indian River based upon no entrapment designation.

It appears that a green Buick Enclave and a black Ford F150 Pick-up collided at the intersection causing damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police were requested to close this segment of Mount Joy Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
