Nature: Electrical Hazard – Transformer Fire

Address: Nanticoke Av and River Rd Riverdale Beach, DE 19966

On Saturday morning, January 10^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an electrical hazard incident on River Road in the vicinity of Nanticoke Avenue.  It was reported that the transformed blew up and on fire and could hear the noise in the background of the telephone call.

Emergency response units included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Incident Commander arrived an identified a transformer fire that has been extinguished, provided the utility pole numbers to the emergency operations center and cancelled all responding apparatus pending notification and arrival of the utility service provider.

All emergency response units were able to return to their respective quarters.
