Nature: Automatic Crash Notification – Upgraded to Vehicle Accident

Location: Cannon Rd and Mount Joy Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday, December 30^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for an automatic crash notification which was upgraded to a two-vehicle accident on Cannon Road east of Mount Joy Road. The incident synopsis was one vehicle into a tree and a second vehicle in the middle of the roadway.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a blue Chevrolet Equinox struck an Audi sedan that was parked on the shoulder of the roadway, pushing the vehicle into a wooded area off the road.  Both vehicles were rendered inoperable after the collision.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the closure of Cannon Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
