Nature: Gas Leak

Location: 29 White Pine Dr., Pines At Long Neck, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, November 29^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak incident on White Pine Drive in the Pines of Long Neck off John J. Williams Highway.  It was reported to be an odor of gas (propane) outside of a residential location.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial 360 evaluation of the residential structures which identified a potential source as an underground storage tank that was leaking.  The respective utility service provider was notified and the tank was shut off.

The homeowner was notified of the situation pending arrival of the utility service provider.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to quarters.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with access control during the incident.
