On Wednesday, November 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for a vehicle accident in the area of Creek Drive and Banks Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with one vehicle fleeing the incident. The remaining vehicle was off the roadway into a tree.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization where needed, vehicle stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery and overall incident mitigation efforts. 

It appears that a silver Toyota Corolla was traveling on Banks Road and reportedly collision with a large truck before going off the roadway into a tree. The truck did not remain at the incident location.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident. 

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
