Nature: Trunk or Treat – Community Church of Oak Orchard

City: Oak Orchard

On Friday evening, October 31st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company assisted the Community Church of Oak Orchard with their Annual Trunk or Treat Event.  The Auxiliary provided a decorated vehicle to disseminate candy and goodies for the children as well as clothing (gloves, hats, socks, scarfs) and personal hygiene supplies to attendees. The fire company provided apparatus for lighting and fire police escort for the hayride through the community.

Trunk or treat is a Halloween event where participants gather in a designated area, typically a parking lot, and decorate their car trunks with Halloween-themed decorations. Children then go from trunk to trunk collecting candy and treats, often while parents supervise and socialize with other families. This event is designed to provide a fun and safe environment for children to celebrate Halloween, free from the dangers associated with traditional trick-or-treating, such as traffic and unfamiliar neighborhoods.

Illustrated herewith are some photographs of the evening’s events.
