On Tuesday, October 21st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm on Pond Road in the Winding Creek development off Banks Road.  It was reported to be a second floor detector activation with improper passcode.

Emergency response units from Indian River include Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews were assignment to complete an exterior 360 of the structure, an interior evaluation with discussion with the homeowners.

It appears that the homeowner was attempting to cook when the mishap occurred.  All other responding apparatus was cancelled and the incident was identified as a culinary mishap.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted where available.
