Nature: Medical Emergency – Assist with High Water Vehicle

City: Pot Nets Coveside

On Sunday afternoon, October 12^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad with a medical emergency by providing the high water vehicle access for the Sussex County Paramedics to access a patient with a medical incident.

Emergency response units included Utility 80-14 (High Water Vehicle) from the Oak Orchard facility and Utility 80-11 which was in the Long Neck area providing a comprehensive tour of the fire district.

Emergency response units assisted the Sussex County Paramedics by transporting them to the Pot Nets Coveside development off Long Neck Road and providing transportation of patient and medics back to the area near Fairfield development to transport to nearby medical facilities.

Indian River’s utility vehicles provided transportation assistance which make them vital assets for the fire company's operations, especially in areas prone to flooding or other water-related emergencies.
