Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Monday afternoon, October 6^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the area of the Nanticoke Crossing Shopping Center involving two vehicles. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization where needed, traffic control, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a black Subaru Crosstek and a green Toyota RAV4 collided at the entrance to the Nanticoke Crossing Shopping Center on John J. Williams Highway.  Both vehicles were rendered inoperable.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the closure of the John J. Williams Highway in the affected area.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
