Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 103 William Dr., William Ritter Manor, DE 19966

On Wednesday afternoon, October 1^st, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82) and Millsboro (83) fire companies were alerted for a residential structure fire on William Drive in the William Ritter development off Bay Farm Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility. 

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial exterior evaluation as well as an interior evaluation, assistance with positive pressure ventilation, and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that there was a culinary mishap which resulted small episode of fire within the residential structure which necessitated eradication of the smoke from the residential structure.  The fire was out upon arrival of the first emergency response unit which permitted the downgrading and cancellation of the other responding apparatus.

All units were authorized to return to their respective quarters upon completion of their respective assignment.
