Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Residential Structure – Baylis Avenue

Location: 29065 Baylis Av Baylis Estates, DE 19966

On Monday morning, September 29th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential structure on Baylis Avenue in the Baylis Estates development off Mount Joy Road. It was reported to be an automatic fire alarm going off in the residential structure on the second floor with multiple activations.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews completed an exterior evaluation of the residential structure and commenced with an interior evaluation upon arrival of an emergency responder.  The rationale for the activation was undetermined and no undesirable conditions were prevalent.

All emergency response units were authorized to return.
