Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Thursday afternoon, August 21^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Squad were alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at Bay Farm Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision and unknown status of injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Deputy Chief 80 from the Long Neck area as well as the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was requested to hold all other apparatus at their respective station.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control, patient stabilization if needed, fluid and debris recovery as well as overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a black BMW sedan struck the rear of a black Ford F150 pick up causing inoperable damage to the sedan.  There were not any injuries associated with the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
