Nature: Vehicle Fire

On Saturday morning, August 9^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on John J. Williams Highway at the Renaissance Nursing facility.   It was reported to be a vehicle in the parking lot, smoking and it smells like fire and the vehicle is not running.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle evaluation. 

It appears that an employee was arriving for work and her mini-van was smoking and smelling.  An evaluation of the engine compartment yielded a possible oil leak that was falling onto the hot engine block smoking and smelling.  The operator was so advised.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
