Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Seymour Acres Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday morning, August 8^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway between Bay Farm Road and Legion Road.  It was reported by the Delaware State Fire Police that was traveling in the area as a two vehicle rear-end type collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, vehicle stabilization, patient stabilizaiton where needed, fluid and debris recovery and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that both vehicles were traveling eastbound when a white Toyota Tacomia truck pulling a landscaping trailer struck the rear of a gray Chevrolet Suburban causing damage to both vehicles.  The truck was rendered inoperable.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with lane restrictions before closing the entire segment of roadway for the duration of the clean up process.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
