Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Winding Creek Village (80)

Banks Rd and Creek Dr Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday, August 6^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Banks Road near the entrance to Winding Creek Village. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be a head-on collision with no occupant entrapment.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a green Honda Civic and a silver Honda CRV collided on Banks Road near the entrance to Winding Creek Village.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.  The roadway was closed for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
