Nature: Wires Down/Arcing

On Saturday afternoon, July 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an electrical hazard near the Holly Lake Campsites. It was reported as a tree falling into electrical wires.

Emergency responses units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews conducted an initial evaluation of the area, identified the concern and reported the issue to the utility service provider – Delaware Electric Cooperative for corrective action.

The property owners were apprised of the situation and corrective action would be forthcoming from the utility service provider.

All emergency response apparatus were authorized to return to their respective stations.
