Nature: Automatic Alarm Incident – Multi-Residential Structure

Location: Building 6

Address:  33586 Windswept Dr., The Peninsula, DE 19966

Early Saturday morning, July 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to an automatic alarm sounding on Windswept Drive in the Peninsula. It was reported that the alarm was sounding for the entire building.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Command 80 and Engine 80 from the Long Neck area and Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard area. 

Incident Command held the emergency response units to itself based upon the frequency and quantity of similar type incidents at this location.  This location was again placed on officer’s call for the next 48 hours.

Our hope is to increase awareness within our immediate fire district to mitigate the quantity of these unwanted automatic fire alarm incidents.
