Nature: Fire Alarm – Commercial Structure

On Friday morning, July 25^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a fire alarm sounding within a commercial structure at the Nanticoke Indian Museum.  It was reported to be a kitchen area smoke detector activation.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior and interior evaluation which identified that the fire alarm system possibility needed routine maintenance. 

The attendant at the facility was apprised of the situation and fire response units were downgraded to Tower 80 with Engine 80 being cancelled.
