Nature: Gas Leak (Natural and LP Gases)

Cross Streets: Sterling Blvd/Dead End

On Friday, July 18^th, the Indian River Volunteer Company was alerted for a gas leak on Windswept Drive in the Peninsula.  Residents were concerned abut the apparent smell of gas.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included an area evaluation with an exterior and interior building review, gas meter monitoring and discussion with the property management and residential occupant(s) where available.

The complex evaluation and meter readings did not yield any determination of gas.  The incident was identified as unfounded with all emergency units authorized to return to their respective quarters.
