Nature: Brush Fire

On Saturday afternoon, March 8^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a brush fire incident on West Penn Court in the Captains Grant development off Oak Orchard Road.  It was reported to be small brush fire within the residential development.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Incident Command 80, Brush 80 and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression and saturation with a 50’ section of 1-¾” fire suppression hose as well as some rakes.

It appears that a small section of brush adjacent to a residential driveway caught fire and was fully extinguished by the fire company upon arrival.

All emergency response units were permitted to return to their respective quarters.
