Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 31560 Oak Orchard Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, February 1^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Oak Orchard Road in the vicinity of Caravel Drive.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, Millsboro EMS Unit and the Delaware State Fire Police. It was reported to be a two vehicle collision and unknown status of injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine 80 and #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fluid and debris recovery, patient stabilization where needed, vehicle stabilization, traffic control, and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a blue Ford F250 pick up and black Lincoln Navigator collided on Oak Orchard Road causing extensive damage to both vehicles as well as extended damage to the fencing parallel to Oak Orchard Road as it was struck by the Ford F250 after the initial collision.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control with complete closure of Oak Orchard Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
