Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Indian Mission Rd and Corkys Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday afternoon, January 29^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road near Corkys Lane.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2. It was reported to be a head-on collision involving two vehicles and no information regarding injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine 80 and 80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control with the closure of Indian Mission Road between Cannon and Friendship Roads.

It appears that a black Ford Explorer collided with a Silver Ford Explorer causing significant damage to both vehicles.  The aviation unit was cancelled and an additional EMS unit was requested to the incident location.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and roadway closure for the entire duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
