Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 23684 Bayview Dr West Bay Park, DE 19958

On Sunday morning, January 21^st, while operating on the fire grounds of an earlier structure fire incident, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire companies were alerted to assist the Rehoboth Beach (86) Volunteer Fire Company with a structure fire on Bayview Drive in the West Bay Park development off Camp Arrowhead Road.  It was reported that smoke was showing from the roof area of the clubhouse.

Due to the previously dispatched incident with crews still actively working, the mutual aid standby companies were committed to responding as other units were cleared from the fire grounds.  The standby crews from Memorial (89) and Millsboro (83) responded to the West Bay Park incident as did apparatus from Rehoboth Beach (86), Milton (85), and Indian River (80).

Emergency response units from Indian River included the standby company from Millsboro (83) and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial 360 exterior evaluation noting the location the utilities, smoke from the roof and eaves of the structure, request to conduct primary search of the structure, initiate fire suppression activities, secure discontinuation of the utility services for both gas and electricity, and establish water supply.  

It appears that the fire was limited to the kitchen area of the structure with smoke damage throughout.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal was requested to respond to the incident location.

There were no reported civilian and firefighter injuries.
