Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics – Assist Lewes (82)

Location: Beaver Dam Rd and Steeple Chase Rn Lewes, DE 19958

On Friday evening, November 11^th, the Indian River (80) and Rehoboth Beach (86) volunteer fire companies were alerted to assist the Lewes Fire Department with a vehicle accident on Beaver Dam Road near Steeple Chase Road.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle head-on collision with entrapment in each vehicle.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with occupant entrapment and extrication measures as well as traffic control assistance.

It appears that a Jeep SUV and Chrysler Pacifica mini-van collided causing significant damage.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and roadway closure where needed.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
