Saturday March, 22 2014 Nature: Training & Travel – Coaling, Alabama On Saturday, March 22, 2014, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company sent a contingency of fire company personnel to Coaling, Alabama to coordinate various apparatus training familiarization for the Coaling Fire Department. The Coaling Fire Department was the recent recipient of Indian River’s Engine #80-2 which has been transformed into Engine 1601 for their fire district. See attached information http://www.irvfc.com/gallery?id=1556 On Saturday, prior to the Sunday familization training, the fire company personnel socialized with Coaling members, participated in a tour of the University of Alabama Campus, City of Tuscaloosa, as well as attended the Paul W. Bryant Football Museum - http://bryantmuseum.com/index.asp and the the Alabama Fire College - http://www.alabamafirecollege.org/. The Coaling Fire Department maintains multiple facilities, hosts a compliment of 26 volunteer fire company personnel, and is located on the outskirts of Tuscaloosa, Alabama in Tuscaloosa County. Coaling responds to an average of 140 fire and 260 medical alerts per year.
