Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 32613 Seaview Loop Millsboro, DE 19966

Hydrant Location:  Hydrant At Seaview Loop & Vista Drive

 

On Sunday, October 25th, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82), and Millsboro (83) fire companies were alerted for a structure fire on Seaview Loop in the Long Neck Shores development off of Bay Farm Road.  Other emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics and the local emergency medical services provider.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80-3, Rescue 80, and Utility 80-11 from the Long Neck facility and Ladder 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression activities, ladder truck set-up and ladder residential structure, establish and access water supply from designated fire hydrant at Seaview Loop and Vista Drive, establish manpower pool, ventilation with positive pressure techniques, and reduction of scene access and perimeter control via fire police.   

It was reported upon arrival of emergency response personnel as smoke showing from multiple sides of the structure.  Engine #80-3 arrived and established fire suppression techniques and identified that fire was within the residential crawl space of the structure.  A fire suppression line was extended to the crawl space as well as the interior of the residential structure.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated perimeter access and traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The utility service provider (Delaware Electric Cooperative) was requested to respond to the location for service disconnection.

There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries associated with this incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police are investigating.
