Story

Indian River Canvasses Holiday Pines & Friendship Road Communities

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company continues to work closely with our fire prevention mission where and when its safe to do so. To protect everyone’s safety, we have postponed many fire prevention activities but have vested significant interest in fire prevention safety and smoke detector campaigns in targeted areas utilizing precautions.

Our top priority is protecting the people we serve and our volunteers!

Over the past week, the Fire Prevention Committee of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company canvassed the Holiday Pines and Friendship Road area to distribute free smoke detectors, fire prevention materials and discuss fire safety precautions in their respective home.

In total, sixty-seven (67) homes were visited and thirty-five (35) smoke detectors were disseminated.

The Fire Prevention Committee would like to acknowledge the community for their support!
