Friday September, 28 2012 @ 15:53:47 Nature: Washdown (fuel Spill) Location: Food Lion (80)- Nanticoke Crossing Address: 24832 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966 On Friday afternoon, September 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a fuel spill in the Food Lion Shopping Center at Nanticoke Crossing. It appears that a blue Dodge Neon was actively leaking fuel while the operators were in the commercial establishments. Emergency response crews included: Engine #80-3 and #80-5 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility. Emergency response assignments included area and scene preservation by coordinating off the targeted location, fluid mitigation and recovery where possible, locating and securing the leak, and traffic control. The leak was ceased by nature of running out of fuel in the tank. The vehicle was towed by a private party.
