Wednesday August, 29 2012 Nature: Water Flow Evolutions & Apparatus Familiarization Training Address: Pot Nets Seaside, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Wednesday, August 29th, the Indian River conducted an internal training initiative that utilized large diameter, 80 Marine 1, Engine #80-2; and Ladder 80. The objective of the curriculum was to familiarize membership to utilizing large diameter for ladder truck operations, master stream applications, deck gun and other assignments. For departments that protect areas without hydrants often rely on water from ponds, cisterns and other sources and this effort was to highlight the possibilities regarding water retrieval process. These training evolutions included 80 Marine 1 providing water via large diameter hose (5”) to an Engine that supplies a deck gun stream and aerial ladder opportunities. These objectives were completed via the on-site process at Pot Nets Seaside. |
