Nature: Annual Lowes Home Safety Day

Lowe's Safety Saturday promotes family fun and education!

On Saturday, June 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was invited to participate with the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach fire companies and attend Lowes’ Annual Home Safety Day Event at Five Points near Lewes, Delaware. The Lowes’ Safety Day is intended to be a fun event for the whole family to learn and enhance family home safety.

Some of the participants include: (1) fire department representation from Lewes (82), Rehoboth Beach (86), Indian River (80), and Memorial (89); (2) public safety entity representation from the Delaware State Police; and (3) medical aviation units from LifeNet.

You could meet a firefighter, see a ladder truck and fire engine, witness a Delaware State Police K-9 Unit demonstration, watch a seat belt safety demonstration, view a medical evacuation helicopter, and obtain information regarding fire prevention, fire safety, home safety, etc.

This public service initiative was free and the public was encouraged to attend.
