Over the past weekend, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company sponsored a Junior Firefighter Team to participate in a Skills Completion Competition at the Delaware State Fire School – Georgetown Campus.

The Delaware State Fire School Junior Firefighter’s Competition is intended to enhance firefighter skills and abilities which include vehicle rescue techniques, victim rescue techniques, hosing handling and hydrant hook-up, and many other evolutions.

The Junior Firefighter Competition Team Members were: Chase Atkins, Cody Levis, Trevor McCandless, and Jacob Miller.

The team training activities were coordinated by Ryan Mock, Joseph Thompson and Hayden Klingler. Illustrated herewith are some photographs of the competition evolutions.
