Indian River's Fire Prevention Co-Chairs Recognized 

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is recognizing its Fire Prevention Co-Chairs Robert Marmor and Roxanne Bammer for an exceptional job during the past year in our fire district spreading the word of Fire Prevention and Safety Awareness.

This effort is intended to recognize firefighter(s) and fire company member(s) that have served our community with distinction by volunteering and in many cases exceeded expectations with perseverance, commitment, and dedication in order to complete the assigned objective. 

While Indian River has recently learned firsthand how important working smoke detectors are and that doing the important work of fire prevention is paramount to protecting lives and property from devastating fires. These tasks require a strong character comprised of incredible courage, self-discipline, a passion for serving others, and serving with decision-making skills during and after emotionally charged situations that will impact others in many unforeseen ways and sometimes for the rest of their lives.

This team has endlessly and diligently worked long hours, sometimes spending days at a time at the fire house preparing for events, canvassing neighborhoods, and assisting others. They are committed to their assigned tasks and take the work of protecting our communities and each other very seriously. They often volunteer their precious time to schools, homeowner association meetings, and civic organizations in order to help educate others about the dangers of fires, how to prevent them, and what to do in the event of a fire.

These nominees have pursued training with much excitement and treat every new task or assignment with dedication, diligence, and professionalism.  Kudos to our Fire Prevention Coordinators and their Fire Prevention Team!
