Nature: Structure Fire

Address: Forest Rd and Stockley Rd., Milton, DE 19968

On Friday afternoon, April 27th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) volunteer fire companies were alerted to assist Milton (85) Volunteer Fire Company with a structure fire on Forest Road near Stockley Road outside of Harbeson, Delaware. It was reported to be a working structure fire.

The Memorial (89) Volunteer Fire Company was redirected to the incident location after marking up for a pre-arranged standby / cover up assignment for Milton.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 from our Long Neck facility and Engine #80-1 and Tanker 80 from our Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response personnel were requested to report to the manpower pool for designated assignments and the apparatus were assigned for water shuttle operations and tasks.

The Incident Commander requested the assistance of the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Officers upon identified that the origin may be of suspicious nature.

It appears that the manufactured home was in the process of being taken apart and caught fire.

The entire incident is under investigation.

Milton House Fire Under Investigation 

A manufactured home that was being taken apart in Milton, caught fire Friday afternoon.

Firemen from Milton, Indian River and Lewes were called to the home on Forest Road near Stockley Road around 4:30 p.m.

The Fire Marshal is investigating to determine the cause of the blaze.
