Nature: Delaware State Fire Chief's Installation Ceremonies – Annual Conference

On Thursday, September 12th, many volunteers of the Delaware Fire Service attended the Delaware State Fire Chief's Annual Meeting and Installation Ceremonies of its new officers for the 2019-2020 year.

Indian River is pleased to identify that is own – Steven C. Deery, Jr. was installed as the President of the Delaware State Fire Chief's Association.

Steven Deery brings to the table a breadth of experience from the Delaware Fire Service and has served in leadership positions for the following organizations:

  • Chief – Indian River Volunteer Fire Company;

  • President - Sussex County Fire Chief's Association; and

  • President – Sussex County Firefighters' Association.

While achieving these positions, Steven has progressed through the chairs of these association with pride, enthusiasm, and leadership that prepares him for this new challenge.

Steven was sworn in by Past DVFA President – William F. Tobin, Jr. and his family – Susan, Sydney, and Sarah were present to participant in the installation ceremonies.
