Wednesday November, 16 2011 @ 13:22:52 Nature: Vehicle Fire Address: 24525 Blue Blvd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Wednesday afternoon, November 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle (van) fire on Blue Blvd. in the development of Shawn’s Hide-a-way off of Banks Road. It was reported to be a working fire in the engine compartment of the vehicle with nearby residential exposures. Emergency response units included Engine #80-3 from our Long Neck facility and Engine #80-1 from our Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Engine #80-3 initiated a front discharge 1¾” fire suppression attack line and quickly attempted to knock down the fire. Additional resources were available to gain access to the interior of the vehicle as well as accessing the engine compartment. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries associated with the incident.
