Nature: Structure Fire
Location: 19646 Ward Rd Lewes, DE 19958
On Saturday evening, July 7th, the Indian River (80), Rehoboth (86), and Milton (85) fire companies were alerted to assist Lewes (82) Fire Department with a working structure fire on Ward Road. Originally, this alert was for an automatic fire alarm (AFA) for Lewes Fire Department and was quickly upgraded to a working alarm.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engines 80-1 and 80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with fire suppression efforts, water supply, water shuttle, and overhaul.
The family feline did perish in the incident as well.
The Millsboro (83) Fire Company provided a standby cover-up assignment for Indian River and was dispatched to an AFA on Winds Way.
