Wednesday April, 28 2010 @ 18:45 Nature: Monthly Training Exercises Address: Georgetown Industrial Park (Delaware State Fire School Training Facility) On Wednesday evening, April 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company attended the Delaware State Fire School – Georgetown Training Facility to participate in the following training evolutions: (1) Structure firefighting exercises which included gaining access, initial fire knockdown strategies and extinguishment; (2) Aerial truck placement and operations which included ladder truck aerial set-up and take down; (3) Engine hydrant operations which included hydrant accessing, pumping to another engine and water supply techniques; and (4) Engine pumping operations which included supplying the structure firefighters with water and hoses to perform the cessation strategies. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company hosts various training on the last Wednesday on every month.
