Thursday, June 18, 2009 @ 07:53:22 Nature: Traffic/Transportation Accident BLS Millsboro, DE 19966 On Thursday morning, June 18th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a serious personal injury collision on Indian Mission Road in the vicinity of Cannon Road. It was reported that the occupants of the vehicle were trapped inside the vehicle after colliding with a telephone pole. It was determined that a Ford Focus was traveling on Indian Mission Road near the Stone Water Creek Development and apparently lost control for an unknown reason. The vehicle went into to a spin and collided with an adjacent utility pole. The occupants of the vehicle were trapped in the vehicle. The emergency response personnel from Indian River were instructed to initiate the following corrective action measures: patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control measures and preparation for vehicle extrication for both #80-5 and Rescue 80 were both required to utilize the vehicle extrication tools. Indian Mission Road was closed for the duration of the incident and the Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and detour activities. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
