On November 8, 2007, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. was alerted for a minor traffic accident on John J. Williams Highway at the entrance of Food Lion. Upon arrival of emergency apparatus, it was determined to be a minor collision with assignments including vehicle stabilization, debris cleared from the roadway surfaces, and assistance with traffic control. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
