On Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at 4:06 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival of Chief Steven Deery, it was determined to have a Volkswagen involved with no exposures. Engine 80-1 arrived on scene and initiated an attack on the fire. Engine 80-2 assisted the crew from Engine 80-1 with overhauling of the vehicle. No one was injured during the incident.
