Story
On Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at 9:28 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle accident on Long Neck Road at the entrance to Massey's Landing. On arrival, it was identified that a single vehicle-traveling south failed to navigate the entrance turn and struck a cement barrier. There were three occupants in the vehicle. Two of the occupants required medical attention and were transported to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Delaware. Responding firefighters were assigned to spread oil dry to absorb fluids that were leaking on the ground. In total 41 firefighters were in service and under the command of Chief Steven C. Deery, Jr.
