At 9:25 AM on Saturday, June 18, we were dispatched to Indian Mission Road (Route 5) and Beaver Dam Road (Route 23) for an MVA with serious injury. A white Pontiac Grand Am had been struck broadside by a 10-wheel dump truck carrying a load of topsoil. Unfortunately, the driver of the Pontiac was fatally injured and passed away at the scene. The driver of the dump truck was treated at the scene and then transported to Beebe Medical Center. DELDOT responded with sign boards for traffic control and the Delaware State Police FAIR Team responded to the scene. Firefighters were in service for two hours and forty minutes for this call.
