Story
At 7:56 PM, we were dispatched to Route 297, Mount Joy Road, somewhere north of Route 24 for an MVA with serious injuries. The actual location was just north of Townsend Road. Upon arrival, we found a Chevrolet S10 pickup truck that had struck a tree. Both occupants were trapped and the engine compartment was on fire. The crew of Rescue 80 started extrication while the crew of Engine 80-5 pulled a one and three-quarter inch line to knock down the fire. The passenger was extricated within 33 minutes of our dispatch. He was transported to Beebe Medical Center by ground transportation. Unfortunately, the driver expired at the scene. Thirty firefighters were in service for 2 hours and 35 minutes for this call.
