Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Monday, July 3^rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road near Grotto’s, the Shoppes of Long Neck, and the entrance to Enchanted Acres.  It was reported to a minor incident involving two vehicles with one vehicle fleeing the scene.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and Ladder 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, scene and incident mitigation, assistance with patient stabilization if needed, vehicle stabilization.  Ladder 80 was cancelled while responding to the vehicle accident.

It appears that a dark colored SUV type vehicle and a black convertible Volkswagen encountered an altercation causing the convertible to run off the roadway striking some hardscaping and landscaping.  The SUV fled into the Enchanted Acres development.

The Delaware State Police assisted with traffic control.

The Delaware State Police is investigating.
