Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 34649 Bookhammer Landing, Lewes, DE 19958

 

On Friday afternoon, January 8th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) Fire Company with a working structure fire on Bookhammer Landing.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response assignments included assistance with fire suppression activities, manpower pool assistance, and water shuttle resources.

The initial fire company dispatch was for Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company for a possible chimney fire with smoke coming from the fireplace inside the residence. Upon arrival of Rehoboth’s fire line officials, it was upgraded to a working alarm.
