Vehicle Plows into Commercial Structure off of Long Neck Road

On Friday afternoon, October 30th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road at the Sussex Eye Center. It was reported to be a single vehicle into the commercial structure.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assist with incident mitigation, and to evaluate structural stability and necessary stabilization efforts.

It appears that a silver Buick Regal was located within the parking area, attempting to park, and struck the front of the commercial establishment.

The Sussex County Building Code Inspection was notified of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
